This paper, starting from not necessarily oppositive categories such as ‘boldness’ and ‘graduality’ and with references to twentieth-century poets (Thomas S. Eliot), historians (Fernand Braudel), bibliographers (Donald McKenzie), sociologists (Niklas Luhmann) and librarians (Shiyali R. Ranganathan), suggests reflections on the intersection of different time structures and dimensions in the life of libraries and cultural institutions.Downloads
