Abstract

The convergence of archives, libraries and museums is mainly about technology, but up till now it lacks a real understanding of the impact of digital technologies on professional identities. IFLA has been discussing about convergence since 2008 along with ICA (International council on archives), ICOM (International council of museums), ICOMOS (International council on monuments and sites) and CCAAA (Co-ordinating council of audiovisual archives associations). The Satellite Conference that will be held in Turin next August will present research and best practices of convergence, and will discuss the academic curriculum required by future professionals in this field.
