Abstract

The paper combines the results of research about the neural aspects of reading with the studies about the common traits that can be found in every human writing. Such results could have significant implications on the role of library – particularly public library – today, and they warn us from an excessive simplification that could lead us to a cultural impoverishment beyond any repair.
