The Bibliographic framework initiative – BIBFRAME – is a project initiated by the Library of Congress in order to design an entities/relationships bibliographic description, capable of easing the transition from MARC to linked data and the semantic Web. The paper describes the professional and scientific debate leading to BIBFRAME, the project’s first steps, the structure and classes of the BIBFRAME model, and the other related initiatives.Downloads
