This paper deals with the analysis of the works and theories by Paul Otlet and Otto Neurath, focusing on their positions on the visual value attributed to images as a worldwide knowledge-democratization means. In detail, the theories properly defined by the authors and also the existing scientific studies in the literature referring to the visual communication conceived as a resource by which disseminate and achieve knowledge on a wide level will be illustrated.
