Abstract

The criteria generally used for evaluating scientific research are often inadequate in the field of the arts and the social studies. Thus, some researchers suggested to adopt the LCA (Library Catalog Analysis) to evaluate the impact of monographs. Libraries and LIS researchers could contribute to identify the best and most trustworthy library catalogs for each area, demonstrating that library information science can be significant also to the wider scientific community.
