The recent popular initiative arisen in order to promote a new national law about reading reminds us that since the late Seventies nothing has been done at a national level on the subject of “library systems”. Thus, for Italian public libraries the moment is come to take advantage of the present government's technical neutrality in order to achieve an institutional organization that will provide them with a stronger voice at both a political and national level.Downloads
