In 2021, the National Central Library in Rome signed a deposit agreement with Giovanna Calvino for the preservation of Italo Calvino’s archive and library. A new room, dedicated to the Italian author, recreates his studio and, at the same time, becomes a laboratory for international studies and research on Calvino’s figure and work.
The article reports the speech on the inauguration of the Italo Calvino Room and reconstructs the main stages of the journey that brought ‘Cosimo’s books’ to the National Central Library in Rome.
