Abstract

The paper examines the rich production and the reflections by the writer Dino Provenzal (1877-1972) on his relationship with reading and on the world of books, on readers’ behaviour, on the inadequacy of libraries in Italy between the two wars. The author focuses especially on the many articles by Provenzal published in L’Italia che scrive, the journal by Angelo Fortunato Formiggini, between 1922 and 1938.
