Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate, discuss, and theorize the relationship between libraries, the new Web, and pacifism—seemingly complex and parallel, yet grounded in solid historical roots. It presents several library projects, initiatives, and activities aimed at defining a concrete role for libraries that can also encompass inclusion, multiculturalism, social dialogue, democratic access to resources, the safeguarding of information impartiality, and—almost as a corollary—the culture of peace.
