The convergence of information resources on the Web of data and relations (remarks on the AIB CILW 2016 Conference, National Central Library of Rome, October 21, 2016)

Abstract

The paper reports the “AIB CILW 2016 Conference” entitled “Revamping information resources: granularity, interoperability and data integration”, organized by the AIB study group on Cataloguing, indexing, linked open data and semantic web, held on October 21, 2016, at the National Central Library, Rome. Choral reflection on the theoretical and practical aspects of the transformation of the management of information resources produced by the adoption of the semantic Web and linked open data, has enabled the audience to appreciate some good practices put in place by the cultural professionals and to focus on some particularly promising prospects, such as the development of new data visualization models and the integration of data produced by GLAM specialists with those produced by the Wikimedia community.
