Abstract

The article provides an overview on the visual literacy competencies developed by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) examining the role of the academic librarian in teaching visual literacy, the affinity between information and visual literacy, and the possibility of using a non-traditional medium as the comic book to support visual literacy.
